Entry requirements: The band is open to all players of secondary school age who play to at least Grade 3 standard.
The Medway Schools Wind Band was established in October 2009 to give opportunities for students from all Medway secondary academies and schools to play together with like-minded musicians in the area.
The band typically meets once or twice a term for a rehearsal day and concert under the baton of Mr. Colin Palmer.
Rehearsals are generally on Sundays at Fort Pitt Grammar School and concerts are usually performed in the Medway area the following week. The band regularly takes part in high profile concerts and events.
There are currently around 40 members of the band, ranging in age from 13 to 18. Our repertoire includes traditional wind band music, popular hits and selections from shows and films.
Medway Schools Wind Band also has a Training Band for aspiring wind players.
